Experience with Children
Since the age of 12 I have been a babysitter for multiple families for kids of all ages. I have experience with children ranging the ages of 0-11 and a child with mild autism. For the past few summers, I have worked as a nanny for a family where I would organize activities and cook meals for the children.
Last winter, I worked as a Ski instructor for Rod Roy Snow School. I was assigned kids that were 5 and 6 years old. They were beginner skiers and didn't even know how to put on ski boots when I first met them. As a ski instructor, it was my responsibility to teach my students how to ski, but more importantly, the safety precautions one must take when skiing. I have always wanted to be a teacher and being a ski instructor confirmed my desire to become a teacher even more so.
Through these experiences, I have learned how to communicate with children in various settings. I have developed more of a patience for young children as well as different classroom management techniques.
